What to introduce, when, and how to keep early experiences positive

The first few months of a puppy’s life are when it learns most easily about people, other animals and everyday sights and sounds.
Gentle, positive introductions to handling, car journeys, household noises and friendly vaccinated dogs help puppies grow into confident adults.

Puppy classes run by qualified trainers offer a safe setting, and many practices hold puppy parties so young dogs can get used to the clinic.
Keep each experience short and rewarding, and ask your vet when it is safe to walk in public places during the vaccination course.
