Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome in a Two-Year-Old Pug

Bella, a two-year-old Pug, was referred for exercise intolerance, loud snoring and two episodes of collapse on warm days.
Airway examination under anaesthesia confirmed stenotic nares, an elongated soft palate and everted laryngeal saccules. All three were corrected in a single procedure with careful recovery monitoring.
Six weeks later Bella could walk further than ever before. The case is a reminder to discuss airway assessment early with owners of flat-faced breeds.
